IM1601 – a single channel, low voltage, ultra-low power PIR signal processor

The IM1601 is a 3-pin device that provides a single digital line to read out a digital data stream accurately representing the PIR signal on a pyroceramic sensor element, including ambient temperature information obtained from an onboard temperature sensor. Data can be accessed either by using force read commands, or by relying on a chip-driven interrupt signal. The IM1601 is suited to applications where an external microcontroller accepts the digitised PIR and temperature signals and infers motion events using algorithms implemented on the microcontroller.

IM9401 – smart, low voltage, ultra-low power PIR signal processor with built-in motion detection

The IM9401 is a smart device which eliminates the need for an external microcontroller. Motion events are inferred using on-chip algorithms and provided on as a digital output signal. Various parameters can be set by the user to adjust the sensitivity and operation of the IC. This device is suited to applications where cost is a crucial parameter.


The IM9401 addresses a broad range of motion detection applications with its high sensitivity, simple configuration, robust operation and low power consumption, while significantly reducing the requirement component count and overall system cost.

IM8601 – digitally configurable, single channel, low voltage, ultra-low power PIR controller

The IM8601 is a digitally configurable digital PIR controller targeting customers that require a low pin count device. The 4-pin IM8601 device is configured using a microcontroller using a single pin, while its low voltage and power consumption enables a user to configure the device to activate the system only when motion occurs, resulting in a highly efficient solution.  The IM8601 combines the key features of the IM1601 (raw PIR signal readout) and the IM9401 (internal motion detection algorithms) to allow the user the freedom of choice for various applications, and the product is especially suited to wireless applications where long battery lifetimes are needed.
